Q: Do you pick up furniture?
A:
Yes! Provided you are in our local pick up area, we will pick up large furniture in good condition (no rips, stains, or containing pet hair) at no charge. Heavy items (e.g. sofa beds, entertainment units, etc.) must be on the ground level. A pick up will be scheduled based on regular truck routing and longer wait times may occur. Please call the store to make arrangements.

Q: What is your local pick up area?
A: A rough estimate is within 20 kms of the New Hamburg Thrift Centre. Please call the store for clarification regarding your location.

Q: What are your store and receiving hours?
A:
Our regular store hours are as follows:

     Monday to Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
     Friday 9:00 am – 8:00 pm
     Saturday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

     Donations must be received no later than 15 mins prior to closing. Thank you!

Q: Why are your price stickers different colours?
A:
In order to always keep our merchandise fresh, items are priced in a different colour each week so we can monitor how long an item has been in our store. It will be featured for two weeks at full price, the third week at half price, the fourth week at 50 cents (regardless of original price.) If the item has not sold in four weeks, it is removed from the store. Furniture and other specialty items are exempt from this rotation.

Q: Can I put an item on hold?
A:
We do not put a hold on any item. Buy it when you see it!

Q: Do you deliver furniture?
A:
Yes, we have a delivery service for customers who have purchased furniture. Rates are listed on the Services Offered page.

Q: I have a stove & fridge to give away. Do you accept them?
A:
Sorry, we do not accept any large appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, freezers, air conditioners, washers, dryers, dishwashers, etc.

Q: I need to do Community Service hours for my high school diploma. May I do them at the New Hamburg Thrift Centre?
A: Yes, we accept a limited number of students on Friday nights, Saturdays, PD Days and during summer vacation. Community Service hours can not be earned during regular school hours.

Q: Do you purchase used furniture or sell on consignment?
A:
No, all items are donated. We do have a Charitable Receipting option. When a single item sells for more than $100, we are able to issue a charitable receipt.

Q: What is your return or exchange policy?
A:
All sales are final with no exchange or refund. One exception is defective electrical appliances returned in seven days with the original sticker still on item and original receipt.
